Biographical Information[edit]

1B/P Ted Bridgett was a member of the Virden Oilers in Canada in 1960 and from 1963-1979. He hit .242 and was 1-0 in 1963, batted .224 in 1964 and hit .243 in '65 while going 1-3. In 1966, he batted .281 while posting a 4-6 mark. He fell to 3-9 in 1967 while hitting .233. In the Year of the Pitcher, he posted a .198 average and a 3-3 record. During 1969, the Oiler hit .308 to tie for 7th in the Manitoba Senior League and he was 4-2, tied for 9th in wins. He made Team Canada for the 1971 Amateur World Series.

He fell back to .222 and 2-2 in 1972. In '73, he hit .343 and slugged .522, finishing 7th in Manitoba in average; he was 1-2 as a pitcher. He was at .158 and 0-2 in 1976, the next season for which his stats are available. He rebounded to .327 and 1-2 in 1977. He hit .250 in 1978 and the veteran was 2 for 11 in 1979.
