Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Tayron Guerrero played for the World Team in the 2014 Futures Game, then, three years later, returned to the event in 2017. In between the two appearances, on July 29, 2016, he was sent by the San Diego Padres to the Miami Marlins as part of a seven-player trade.
On April 30, 2018, pitching for the Marlins, he threw a pitched that was measured at 101.8 mph, the highest speed recorded that season. Unfortunately for him, he held the record for only a day, as rookie Jordan Hicks of the St. Louis Cardinals, who had previously held the record, reclaimed his title with a pitched clocked at 102 mph on May 1st.
