Biographical Information[edit]
Taylor Jones played college ball at Gonzaga University and graduated in 2016 with a degree in Applied Communications. The Chicago Cubs drafted him in the 35th round of the 2015 Amateur Draft, but he opted to stay in school. Jones was drafted a second time in the 19th round of the 2016 Amateur Draft by the Houston Astros. He gradually ascended through the Astros minor league system and made his major league debut on July 26, 2020. Over the course of 2020-2022, Jones appeared in 43 games with the Astros. He spent his final season as a player in the Los Angeles Angels minor league system.
Jones moved into coaching with the Astros as a hitting coach for the FCL Astros in 2024.
