Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Taylor Dugas began playing in the New York Yankees minor league system in 2012.
He was originally drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 8th round of the 2011 amateur draft, but opted not to sign. He did ink a contract after being taken by the Yankees in the 8th round of the 2012 amateur draft. He signed for a bonus of $10,000.
With the Staten Island Yankees in 2012, he hit .306/.465/.373 with 64 hits in 59 games, earning a spot on the New York-Penn League Mid-Season All-Star team. In 2013, he hit .285/.405/.339 with 17 stolen bases in 113 games between the Charleston RiverDogs and Tampa Yankees.
On July 1, 2015, veteran Carlos Beltran aggravated a left rib cage injury while hitting a foul ball. The Yankees called up Dugas from the Trenton Thunder to serve as an extra outfielder. He was optioned to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders after just a couple of days, though, and did not resurface. The Yankees released him in April 2016, and his career ended.
