Biographical Information[edit]
Tatsuya Uchi has been a pitcher for the Chiba Lotte Marines.
After being timed at 90 mph in high school, the Chiba Lotte Marines took Uchi in the first round of the 2003 NPB draft. He was named Fireman of the Year in the minor Eastern League in 2004 and also made a rocky debut with the big club (0-1, 19 R, 21 H, 12 BB in 16 IP). He had a 3.05 ERA in 15 outings in 2006. In 2007, he had shoulder surgery.
Uchi returned to action in Nippon Pro Baseball in 2009 and was 3-1 with a save and a 6.23 ERA in 31 outings. He appeared in 15 games in 2010 and was 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA and .192 opponent average.
Uchi's repertoire includes a forkball, slider, cutter and fastball (peak 93 mph).
