Biographical Information[edit]
Tatsuya Shirono played for Seino Transportation in the Industrial League after college. [1] He represented Japan in the 2023 Asian Championship. Shirono debuted against Thailand, going 3-for-4 with a 2-run double against Suppakorn Lin in the 2nd inning and a 2-run single against Alexander Clark in the 5th inning; he had a 5-RBI day. He was 0-for-1 in the next game against the Philippines, then went 0-for-2 against Taiwan. In the Gold Medal Game, he was 0-for-2 and Japan beat Taiwan to win the Gold. The DH/C tied Ji-Hong Liu for third in the tourney with 7 RBI, behind MVP Motoki Mukoyama and Seung-yeup Na. [2]
