Biographical Information[edit]
Tatsuro Hamada pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball for 4 years.
Hamada represented Japan in the 2012 World Junior Championship (allowing a run while retiring no one), and he struck out 42 in the 2011 Meiji Jingu Baseball Convention; that was the second most in tournament history, 7 behind Masahiro Tanaka. He was drafted by the Chunichi Dragons in the 2nd round of the 2012 NPB draft, and he spent his 2013 season in the NPB Farm Leagues. He went 5-3 with a 4.07 ERA in 2014, then he recorded a 7.47 ERA in 4 games in 2015. Hamada missed most of his next four seasons due to left elbow injuries, and he pitched 7 games with a 6.75 ERA in 2020. He underwent his third elbow surgery in 2021, and he announced his retirement in 2022.
Overall, Hamada was 5-7 with a 5.16 ERA, struck out 86 and pitched 104 2/3 innings in 4 seasons in NPB.
