Biographical Information[edit]

Tanner Lubach was a catcher at the University of Nebraska and earned a degree in business administration. The Los Angeles Angels drafted Lubach in the 9th round of the 2015 amateur draft. He played two years in the Angels' minor league system before playing the 2017 and 2018 seasons in the independent leagues.

Lubach rejoined the Cornhuskers in September, 2018 as their director of operations. Nebraska moved him to a new role in July 2019 as director of player personnel. He remained in that role until he left the university in February, 2020.

Lubach wanted to be on the field working with players and the Houston Astros gave him that chance. They signed him to work as the development coach with the 2020 Tri-City ValleyCats. Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic forced the cancellation of the minor league season.
