Talk:Tug McGraw
I doubt McGraw still holds even the NLCS saves record (Mariano Rivera has 10 saves in the ALCS, haven't bothered to research anybody who has more NLCS saves)

One of the most beloved players ever? Sounds highly subjective to me. - --Mischa 12:07, 14 January 2007 (EST)
Tug McGraw[edit]
Of course "most beloved" is a subjective term. To his fans, he wasthe best. Always had time for an autograph, or just to talk, and every crazy thing he did just endeared him more to those fans.
I can't find this anywhere, but I seem to remember him hitting one of his few home runs (I think the bases were loaded) and being so excited he passed the runner on first base who was waiting to see if it would be caught. He was called out on the play for passing the runner, but still scored three RBIs. Does anyone remember this? Is my memory bad, or was it someone else? I know it was the Phillies.
