Talk:Tim Scott
From the time Tim was in Little League, I knew he would become a major leaguer because that was his heart's desire.
Although Tim was short for his age during the years of seven through thirteen, I was aware that his father, Jim Scott, was 6 ' 2 or 3" and he also had a love for baseball.
Tim excelled in Little League, and played in all All Star games from Little League through Babe Ruth. The eye-opener to all was the 1982 15 year old Babe Ruth World Series in Manchester, New Hampshire, where Tim was compared to Dennis Eckersly of the Boston Red Sox, with a similar leg kick.
He struck out 29 batters pitching in 16 and 1/3 innings. He was the only player selected for the All Star team that year that was from west of the Mississippi.
As his step father, I was, and still am, so proud of Tim, as was his mother, Jan, and his father, Jim Scott.
Tim went on to accomplish his dream of becoming a major league pitcher.
Oh, by the way, Tim could have become a major league infielder and a great hitter. I will never forget the home run he hit in Albuqurquie Duke Stadium against his former Triple A Dodger affiliated team, after he was signed by the San Diego Padres Triple A team, the Las Vegas Stars. What a towering shot over the center field fence! It was as high as it was deep and the fans definitely knew who Tim's parents were that day in the stands.
Looking down from heaven, Tim's father, Jim, must be very proud of his son, and is cheering on the next major leaguer, Tim's son, Preston.
Baseball fans, three to four years from now, start watching for the name, Preston Scott!
