Talk:Rod Carew

From BR Bullpen

"it did not get the media attention that George Brett's attempt did three years later because unlike Brett's run he was "only" hitting about .350 or so most of the season until he hit a "hot streak" in September and his average started inching towards .400 during the last two weeks of the season."

This is false. He went over .400 on June 26, and never dropped below .370 the rest of the season. He was on the cover of Sports Illustrated with Ted Williams in July [1]. I don't know how to rework it, but I also don't want to just take it out either. --Jeff 13:39, 15 June 2012 (EDT)

You said it perfectly. I just plugged in your sentence in place of the incorrect one. I remember the hype around Carew's chase, too, and the sentence that was there did not jive with my memories either; thanks for setting the record straight. --Philippe 11:50, 12 August 2012 (EDT)
