Does he get the minor league star category? He led his league once in walks, once in triples, once in average and once in steals, so not too great on that front. OTOH, he did hit over 300 career homers in the minors and drew over 1,000 walks. Then again, that was due in large part to longevity and his OBP wasn't that great even with all those walks due to all those .220-.230 years. He is in the Salon de la Fama but not all of the members there have gotten (or deserve) the minor league star category. Do we give him the minor league star category or not? - --Mischa 21:19, 24 January 2007 (EST)

I'm not an expert on Mexican League Baseball, but my question about this fellow would be: Did any of his teams win a pennant? To me, that is what makes somebody a star: helping a team to the pennant. --dbrewer18tx 8:23, 25 January 2007 (CST)

I would want to know if he was making All-Star teams. If he consistently made the All-Star team, then he was considered a star then, by the people watching him play. --Just me 09:45, 25 January 2007 (EST)

Unfortunately, the Mexican League often did not designate an All-Star team and when it did, it isn't always easy to find. - --Mischa 10:20, 25 January 2007 (EST)
