Talk:PONY League
The PONY league name lasted for 18 years, in light of other leagues changing names throuout the years, it seems odd to not give the name its own page.
--- Sounds fine to me. Do you want to separate it out? - --Mischa 11:41, 5 Mar 2006 (EST)
I'm not real good at the narrative, so if anyone wants to add something to the copy......
Does anyone think this should be broken up into individual years rather than being split rather arbitrarily? -Chisoxfan 17:00, 23 September 2006 (EDT)
I'd rather see it all on one page at this point, then somewhere way down the line we could have minor league individual years with their own pages. But I think this page might be too long with everything on one page. --Just me 17:19, 23 September 2006 (EDT)
Slowly editing this. Long way to go still. This one sounds wrong, though - Otis Davis of Jamestown had 116 base hits and scored 156 runs Maybe 156 hits and 116 runs?? - --Mischa 12:55, 27 October 2006 (EDT)
It is 156 hits, 116 runs --Just me 15:33, 27 October 2006 (EDT)
This page said the Bill Davis is one of many major leaguers to manage in the PONY league, which is grossly inaccurate. The Bill Davis who managed Olean in 1953 is not the major leaguer of the same name, who would have been 11 at the time. Who writes this stuff? -Chisoxfan 18:38, 5 June 2012 (EDT)
There are many many managers listed on the league pages who have the same name last name as the actual manager, but are not the same person. There has been an effort to clean these up as they are found. Dugout had an aversion to "red links" at the expense of accuracy. --Jeff 19:52, 5 June 2012 (EDT)
I'm leaning towards deleting the "Managers who played in the Majors" section, as I think it's accuracy is in question. People like 11-year-old-at-the-time Davis were listed, as well as Earl Wolgamot, who never played in the majors. Some guys, who managed different teams at different times, are counted twice. It's just a mess. -Chisoxfan 20:02, 5 June 2012 (EDT)
Just rename the section "People who have the same name as managers of the PONY League and have blue links" That would be accurate. --Jeff 20:37, 5 June 2012 (EDT)
