Talk:Larry Jackson
I served as the clubhouse boy for the Fresno Cardinals in the California, Class C league and had the priviledge of watching Larry Jackson have a regular season record of 28-3. He went on to win all four of the playoff games Fresno won to win the league championship; therefore, as I recall he not only ended with a total record of 32 wins with only four losses, he broke the league strike-outrecord by 100 strikeouts. He extended the record from 263 to 363.
At least that's the way I remember it!
Larry Jackson was one of the most incredible athletes I have ever had the privilge to see. He was very proud of having graduated from (then) Boise Junior College. Prior to signing a professional baseball contract, Larry had led the Broncos to a Junior Rose Bowl Championship as their stellar tailback. He was proud of his association with the wonderful town of Boise, Idaho and everything associated with it.
