Talk:Johnny Sain
About 1937 my mother, Zelta Sue Hudlow had a single date with Johnny Sain when she lived on Chickalah Mountain, Mountain Township, Yell County, Arkansas. I think it was a double date that included her sister and Johnny Sain's friend.
At the time, my mother lived on a farm that another baseball great had lived on a few years before. He was Dizzy Dean and his brothers, Paul Dean and Elmer Dean. This farm is located about 4 miles west of the Village of Chickalah, Magazine Township, Yell County, Arkansas. Chickalah is where I lived for about 13 years near to Ralph Dennis who had taught Dizzy Dean when he was in the second grade. Also Neil Cowger who had caught Dizzy as a semi-pro before he went to Houston, Texas in the minor leagues.
