Talk:Jack Graney
I remember listening to the Tribe games in the late 1940's and early 50's.
Jack Graney could make the dullest ballgame seem as important as the 7th game of the world series. A very crafty, articulate announcer, he called games with an eye for detail, and painted a picture that was better than being at the game.
He was on a par with the great sports announcers of the golden age of radio like Mel Allen, Carl Stern, and many others of their generation.
Today's deadbeat announcers should take lessons from him.
