Talk:Edmundas Matusevičius
I've emailed the Lithuanian baseball federation to ask if we can use some of their pictures on the website. I'm hoping for a positive response, their website was very descriptive and helpful with the history of the sport.--Oaktree_b 23:52, 22 January 2009 (EST)
I removed the Soviet National Team Player category as I can't find any record of Edmundas playing in a major event such as the 1990 Goodwill Games or 1991 Intercontinental Cup in which the USSR appeared. - --Mischa 11:59, 23 January 2009 (EST)
I think he might have appeared in the 1990 European Championships (Group B) with the Soviets, and again in the European Championship (Group A) in 1991. The CEB article I quoted seems to imply that he was a member of those teams. see [1] --Oaktree_b 23:48, 7 September 2009 (EDT)
I found him listed in this book { Baseball in Europe: A Country by Country History By Josh Chetwynd Edition: illustrated Published by McFarland & Co., 2008 Original from the University of Michigan Digitized 30 Oct 2008 ISBN 0786437243, 9780786437245 334 pages) using Google books. If someone could track down the book and update his bio, that would be appreciated.--Oaktree_b 22:52, 15 May 2009 (EDT)
He only gets a few lines in the book, mentioning that he had been a javelin thrower and played for the USSR team when they toured the US in 1989, pitching against the US Naval Academy. That's about all. It's a good book, BTW, well worth it. - --Mischa 14:17, 17 May 2009 (EDT)
The 1991 European Championship would be enough to give him the USSR National Team Player tag. - --Mischa 08:34, 8 September 2009 (EDT)
