Why the need for the redundancy of information? 30 wins, maybe, but still redundant. But why the need for the 35 win season mark, who cares, should we add 31, 32, 33, 34, 36, 37, 38, 39 as well?

Because, for all pitchers after 1900, the notable achievement for wins include all multiples of 5 past 15. This may seem repetitious, but it demonstrates how much Walsh's 40-win season sticks out in his record (the effect is the same for Jack Chesbro as well). For 99% of pitchers, it all ends at 25 anyway, but Walsh 's career is anomalous, and it goes a long way to explain why he's in the Hall of Fame (that and the ERA below 2.00). For pitchers before 1900, I've only done multiples of 10, given how common 30+ win seasons were at the time. --Philippe 02:33, 30 Apr 2006 (EDT)
