In 1950, while playing professional baseball for the Wilmington Blue Rocks, a Philadelphia Phillies Class B Interstate League farm team, Danny Schell, his wife and his infant son boarded in an apartment at 605 West 19th Street in Wilmington, rented out to them by the home's owner, Ms. Billie Walker.
