Talk:Catcher's interference
Wouldn't it count as a plate appearance? Similar to being hit by a pitch?
Not a dead ball[edit]
The ball is not declared dead. The play continues and when it concludes it is the manager's choice to take the interference (obstruction) call.
I've added a sentence. I believe it's the umpire's decision, not the manager's choice, however. Like for a balk call, the intereference is negated if all players involved have advanced at least as many bases as they would have on an interference call. --Philippe 06:37, 26 June 2012 (EDT)
