Talk:Bobby Richardson
Under .300 career OBP = VASTLY over-rated player. FIne Defensive 2b, but that's it. All-Star team selections are a joke. In his day, before Bill James, BA was the primary offensive criterion. A career BA of .266 for a middle infielder lacking power and not taking the walk to help the team does not begin to offset the negatives. Slick glove, no power, low OBA playersl have been gumming up MLB rosters for over a hundred years. Middle infielders should have a HIGH OBP, corner positions should add the dimension of power - to really be an asset to a team.
