I'm not sure the exact story, but if I remember correctly, he signed with the Royals because the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who had drafted him #1 overall brought him to Tampa for some reason or another. Even though they said it wouldn't, that cancelled his eligibility to play baseball for Auburn. So he signed with the Royals. --Jeff 19:02, 10 October 2009 (EDT)
