Talk:Billy Rhines
Wm. Pearl "Bunker" Rhines was famous for having thrown what was called the "submarine" pitch- the pitch thrown underhand. It is said that in the winter time, when it was far too cold outside to play baseball, he practiced his pitching in the long hallway of his home.
Additionally, Billy Rhines was well-known throughout the Ridgway region of Pennsylvania for his expert marksmanship and hunting prowess. His skills at deer-hunting are legendary in that part of the state.
Finally, Billy Rhines is known to have given much back to the community where he lived, leading youth baseball in the Ridgway area and donating much of his time for the good of kids.
