Talk:2006 World Baseball Classic (Rosters)

From BR Bullpen

The birthplaces are not directed appropriately for the Mexican and Japanese players at the very least. That is, they exclude the state/prefecture; pages exist for these places but this page does not link to them. Michael, can you clear this up? - --Mischa 09:32, 26 June 2006 (EDT)

I always thought Dae-Sung Koo still belonged to the Mets while he was pitching in the Classic, even though they released him? This article from the Korea Times says Koo returned to the Hanwha Eagles after the Classic, as the Hanwha Eagles paid the Mets a transfer fee for Koo. - --Jbroks86 2:57 AM, June 27 (EDT)

Since even I am getting confused about which team to list players under, how about having the team listed be the one that the player was on as of March 3. A player would have MLB Club (minor leagues) if they were not on a team's opening day roster, barring injury. --MichaelEng 20:58, 27 June 2006 (EDT)

Yes, that makes things a lot easier, as I am even getting confused with rosters, which I usually confess to be good with. I abandoned a WBC project I was going to do back before the Classic as it got to Classic time and I still had problems finding roster information on players from some lesser known countries. Also, if the player weren't on a MLB Club on opening day, barring injury, it makes perfect sense to list, MLB Club(minor leagues). - -- Jbroks86 23:49 June 27 (EDT)

Secundo Frente is shown as a red link for me but when I click on it, it brings me to Secundo Frente, Santiago de Cuba. What's up with that? - --Mischa 13:56, 1 March 2010 (EST)

Dunno what was going on there, that was strange. Seems to be fixed now. --Jeff 21:01, 1 March 2010 (EST)

Same problem with Stellenbosch, Western Cape. - --Mischa 11:14, 2 March 2010 (EST)

No red links left! I remember when this page was over 50% red links. We now have bios for every WBC player in 2006 and 2009 - --Mischa 15:41, 9 March 2010 (EST)
