Talk:1991 Caribbean Series
How did Licey only play five games while Lara played seven, with Santurce and Tijuana playing four.
According to the text there was a three-game round-robin (one-game vs each team) followed a best-of-three finals that lasted two games. The most logical series format would be:
- Round Robin
- Licey: 3-0
- Lara: 1-2
- Santurce or Tijuana: 0-3 (loser of round 2)?
- Santurce or Tijuana: 0-3 (loser of round 1)
- Playoffs
ROUND 1 ROUND 2 ROUND 3 ================================================= Licey**** W W Santurce/ ****** LICEY CHAMP Tijuana---|L | ************ Lara*******W * *********** Santurce/ | Tijuana -|
- Playoffs
- Licey: 2-0
- Lara: 2-2
- Santurce: 0-1
- Tijuana: 0-1
Does anyone know if this is true (or what he proper format was)? --MichaelEng (talk) 09:02, 8 November 2006 (EST)
Here's what happened. In the round-robin, Licey beat everybody once. Lara, Santurce and Tijuana split their games with one another. So, it was
Licey 3-0 Tijuana 1-2 Lara 1-2 Santurce 1-2
Lara then beat Santurce and Tijuana once each in a playoff to make it to the finals against Licey.
I'll clarify things in the article - --Mischa 16:35, 10 November 2006 (EST)
