Biographical Information[edit]

Sidearm hurler Takateru Iyono pitched in Japan and Taiwan. A 10th-round pick of the Hanshin Tigers in the 2002 NPB draft, he was 1-1 with a 6.23 ERA in six outings in 2003. He did not appear for the big club for a couple years, then allowed two runs in 1 1/3 IP, 3 BB, 3 H) in 2006 and one run in two innings in 2007. In 10 Nippon Pro Baseball games, he had worked 7 2/3 IP and allowed six runs, 6 walks and 9 hits while fanning 9. He was 1-1 with a 7.04 ERA. The Brother Elephants signed him but he was 0-4 with a 9.43 ERA in six games in 2009 and was cut. He then signed with the Kochi Fighting Dogs of the Shikoku-Kyushu Island League and had a 1.98 ERA in 24 outings in that minor circuit for the remainder of '09.
