Biographical Information[edit]

Takashi Inomata pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball and for the Japanese national team.

Inomata represented Japan in the 1986 Amateur World Series. The Hanshin Tigers drafted him in the first round of the 1986 NPB draft. He started 14 games with a 2.94 ERA in his rookie year. Inomata was turned into a reliever in 1989, and he recorded a 4.19 ERA in 41 appearances. He came back to the rotation in 1990, and he 5-11 with a 3.27 ERA in 21 starts. The Niigata native was 9-13 with a 3.29 ERA in 1991, but he slumped to 5-5 with a 5.00 ERA in the next year. He bounced back and had a 11-12 record with a 3.89 ERA in 1993, this was the only season he had more than 10 wins. Inomata's ERA rose to 4.40 in 1994, and he was moved from the rotation in 1995. He had a 2.51 ERA in the 1995 season, but he allowed 5 runs in 3 innings with the big club in 1996, and spent most of the 1996 season and the whole 1997 season in the NPB Farm Leagues. He transferred to the Chunichi Dragons in 1998, but he still couldn't get another chance with the big club, and he announced his retirement after this season.

Overall, Inomata was 43-63 with a 3.68 ERA and pitched 807 1/3 innings in 9 seasons in NPB.
