Biographical Information[edit]

Takahiro Kanamori pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball and CPBL.

Kanamori was drafted by the Chunichi Dragons in the first round of the 1994 NPB draft. He went 2-4 with a 4.35 ERA in the NPB Farm Leagues in 1995, then he improved to 11-4 with a 3.57 ERA in 1996. He led the Western League in wins ( tying Isao Koda) and ranked 9th in ERA. Kanamori also made his NPB debut on October 2, and he had his first start on October 9. However, Kanamori gave up 2 grand slams, to Tsuyoshi Shinjo and Kazuhiko Shiotani, and he became the first pitcher to allow 2 slams in an inning in NPB history.

The Dragons sent Kanamori to the Uni-President Lions after he stayed in the ni-gun for the entire 1997 season, and Kanamori was 3-2 with a 3.09 ERA in 1998. He returned to the Dragons in 1999, but he didn’t have a single appearance with the big club. The Dragons released him after the 1999 season, and he announced his retirement.
