Biographical Information[edit]

Tae-in Chae has been a first baseman-outfielder in the Korea Baseball Organization.

Chae signed with the Boston Red Sox as a teenager; they planned to use him as a pitcher but injuries derailed his career in that role and with their organization. He never wound up pitching in Organized Baseball. He later joined with the Samsung Lions. Making his KBO debut in 2007, he hit .221/.277/.325 in 31 games. He improved to .266/.322/.444 in 68 games in 2008, getting regular playing time after Jacob Cruz was released. In 2009, Chae had a productive campaign at .293/.382/.514 with 26 doubles, 17 home runs and 72 RBI, starting at 1B for Samsung.

Chae hit .292/.353/.447 with 14 HR in 2010 but fell to .220/.339/.352 in 2011.
