Biographical Information[edit]
Tadami Nakatani was an outfielder in Nippon Pro Baseball. The Hanshin Tigers signed him in 1983 as an undrafted free agency. He went 0 for 5 with a walk and a run in 1987, his NPB debut. He moved to the Kintetsu Buffaloes during June of 1988 and was 0 for 6 in 1988. In 1989, he hit .274/.333/.387 in 46 games.
In 1990, Nakatani improved to .304/.336/.438 in 123 plate appearances over 68 games as a good bench threat. He hit .341/.370/.409 in 46 plate appearances in 1991 and again was a fine pinch-hitter in 1992, batting .308/.377/.385 in 47 games. He fell to 3-for-16 with a double in 1993 and wrapped up with the Orix Blue Wave in 1994, going 0 for 4.
Overall, Nakatani batted .281/.324/.383 in NPB.
After retirement, Nakatani ran a restaurant.
