Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher T.J. Beam attended Ole Miss, going 14-2 as a senior. He was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 10th round of the 2003 amateur draft, was signed by scout D.J. Svihlik and made his pro debut that summer. In five years in the Yankee organization, he was 22-18 with a 2.71 ERA in 154 minor league appearances. He also spent part of 2006 in the majors, going 2-0 with an 8.50 ERA in 20 outings. Following the 2007 campaign, T.J. became a free agent and signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. He saw action in 32 games, pitching to a 4.14 ERA, but was designated for assignment to clear roster space for Eric Hinske in the 2008-2009 offseason. He spent time in the Toronto Blue Jays and Arizona Diamondbacks systems before capping his career with a season with the Lancaster Barnstormers of the Atlantic League in 2011.

Beam coached at his alma mater in 2013.
