Strat-O-Matic Baseball

Strat-O-Matic Baseball is a tabletop baseball simulation game produced by the Strat-O-Matic Company, based in Glen Head, New York. It is played using cards and dice to determine results from of the pitcher-batter matchup, as well as charts to determine fielding and baserunning results.

Strat-O-Matic uses a 50/50 split between batters' and pitchers' cards, determined randomly by the throw of dice. The company was founded in 1961, and produced its first Major League set of cards in 1963, covering the 1962 season. For the first decade of the game, every team consisted of a 20-player roster, though it now offers "extra" players, increasing roster size to more than 30. In 1972 it began offering an advanced version of the game along with its basic, including left/right splits, and later offered "super-advanced" features, mainly involving ballpark effects, and advanced fielding and base-stealing.

Strat-O-Matic publishes the current baseball season, generally just before spring training, and a number of past seasons.
