Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Cecil "Stormy" Davis played in the minor leagues from 1921 to 1933. He led the 1924 Western Association with 187 R and 51 HR and the 1929 Cotton States League with 28 HR. He led the 1928 South Atlantic League with 125 RBI and the 1931 CSL with 100 RBI. Overall, Davis hit .318 with 407 2B, 270 HR and 145 SB in 1,654 games.
Davis managed the 1940 Jacksonville Jax.
Davis' son James Davis also played minor league ball. On July 3, 1947, while playing for the Ballinger Cats of the Longhorn League, James was hit by a pitch against the Sweetwater Sports. He passed away on July 10.
