Stijn Janssens debuted in the First Division at age 16. He was 13 for 52 with a double, triple, home run, two walks and 15 strikeouts for the Mortsel Stars that year. He went 6 for 30 with four walks and 12 whiffs in 2010, then moved to the Hoboken Pioneers in 2011. He was Hoboken's main catcher in the 2011 European Cup, going 4 for 15 with a run, 2 RBI and walk while allowing six steals in seven tries.
