Biographical Information

Steven Meinke, a Thai-American, played college baseball briefly. He then was a hand model and actor. When Moneyball was being made into a movie, he tried getting into baseball shape, hoping to play the role of fellow Thai-American Johnny Damon. He did not get the part, but got the baseball bug again. He emailed the Thai baseball federation about the 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers and they agreed to have him try out in Thailand at his expense. He made the team but did not appear in the Qualifiers (Thailand used only five pitchers), making it as far as warming up in the bullpen.
