Biographical Information[edit]
Steve Pollakov played two years of professional baseball. In 2016 he played on the Great Falls Voyagers in the Chicago White Sox system, hitting .278/.350/.389 in 41 plate appearances. He spent the following year playing for the Joliet Slammers in the independent Frontier League, backing up Spencer Navin at catcher and batting .200/.381/.213.
After the completion of his playing career, Pollakov moved into the coaching ranks. He was the Dominican Academy catching coordinator in the Boston Red Sox system in 2018. He moved to the Houston Astros player development program in 2019 as a hitting apprentice where he worked to integrate technology and biometrics into hitting programs. Pollakov continued the "moving on" theme in 2020 by joining the Chicago Cubs as their Dominican Analytics Hitting Coordinator.
