Steve Gillispie
Biographical Information[edit]
Steve Gillispie has been a college coach.
Gillispie coached Fort Hays State University in 1988-1989, then was an assistant at the University of Nebraska in 1990-1991, recruiting Darin Erstad. He was an assistant at Mendocino Junior College for two years and Lassen Junior College for a year. In 1995, he was assistant coach and interim head coach for the University of Utah. He was an assistant for the University of Alabama - Birmingham in 1996 and 1997. He scouted for the Philadelphia Phillies from 1998-2001. He then spent 11 years as an assistant at Jacksonville State University. He moved to Youngstown State University as head coach for 2013, a role he held until 2016.
