Biographical Information[edit]

Steve Bieser played in the majors for the New York Mets in 1997 and the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1998, batting .250 in 60 games. In a thirteen-year minor league career, Bieser played at least six games at every position except at first base and shortstop. In the majors, he played outfield and saw time as a catcher.

After his playing career, he coached for St. John Vianney High School (137-51 from 2004-2010, two state titles). He was pitching coach of his alma mater, Southeast Missouri State, in 2011-2012. He then became head coach and was 138-97 in four seasons, setting a school record with 39 wins in 2016. In 2017, he was named head coach at the University of Missouri. In 7 seasons at Missouri, Bieser was 188-155-1, before being fired after the 2023 season. He then became head coach at Jacksonville State University for 2024.
