Biographical Information[edit]

Steve Bever was head coach of Pittsburg State University, his alma mater, from 1991-2012.

Bever was a four year starter at Pitt State from 1966 to 1969. He then spent 20 years coaching baseball at the Little League, Babe Ruth, and semi-pro levels. He was the golf coach at Pitt State from 1987-1989, then was selected to restart the baseball program that was cut in 1973 due to budget constraints. He set a school record for wins in 39 in 1997 and repeated that feat in 2002. He missed the NCAA Division II World Series by one game in both 1997 and 1999. He won over 500 games.
