Biographical information[edit]
Steve Thornton is a former minor league baseball player and manager.
He played from 1965 to 1968 in the Minnesota Twins system. In 1965, he hit only .178 in 49 games for the Thomasville Hi-Toms. His batting average improved to .216 in 1966, as he played in 76 games for the Hi-Toms. He played for the Orlando Twins in 1967 and 1968, hitting .238 in the former season and .212 in the latter. Overall, he hit .216 in 260 minor league games, over a span of four seasons.
He managed the Auburn Twins in 1969, leading them to a record of 31-42, finishing them seventh in the league. That was his only year managing in the minor leagues.
