Biographical Information[edit]

Cousin of Ron Perranoski, Stan Perzanowski was a star hurdler in high school before an injury caused him to switch to baseball. He came to the major leagues for 37 games spread over five seasons. Although he was a 16th round pick in the 1968 amateur draft, he impressed enough that he made his major league debut with the Chicago White Sox at age 20 in 1971. His best year was with the Texas Rangers at age 24 in 1975 when he pitched 66 innings with an ERA of 3.00.
