Biographical Information[edit]

Stan "Lefty" Ferens pitched for the St. Louis Browns in both 1942 and 1946. Vern Stephens, six years younger than Ferens, was a teammate on both teams.

He pitched in seven games for the 1941 Houston Buffaloes, and then was assigned to Columbus, where he went 19-5.

He had lost part of the thumb on his pitching hand in a childhood accident.
