In 1929 the Springfield Buckeyes of the Central League changed their name to the Springfield Dunnmen. At 59-77, they finished only a game ahead of last place in the 6-team league. The top performer was SS Mike Noonan, who hit .333/~.421/.560 with 18 homers, and was among the best fielders at his position in terms of fielding percentage. The next season the team was replaced in the CL by the Springfield Blue Sox.
