Spokane Indians Mascots

From BR Bullpen

Otto, Ribby and Doris

The Spokane Indians have four different mascots who can be seen at home games at Avista Stadium

Otto[edit]

Otto

OTTO the Mascot or OTTO the Spokanasaurus (usually simply referenced as Otto) is the most venerable of the four Indians mascots, introduced in 1993. He is given a formal introduction each game right after the Indians' starting lineup has been announced; he is brought out to "Wild Thing" by the Troggs.

During a game in his inagural season, Indians manager Tim Flannery was ejected from a game. He then donned Otto's costume and went onto the field to entertain the crowd. According to Flannery's recollection, he danced to "Louie Louie" by the Kingsmen during the seventh inning stretch and the Indians rallied from behind to win the game. (However, he also recalled it was 1992, so his memory of the event may not be entirely accurate.)

Doris[edit]

Doris

Doris the Spokansaurus was introduced in 2011; she is the second-oldest of the four mascots. She is brought out to the tune of "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper at every Indians home game. Her costume was designed to resemble those of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League

Ribby[edit]

Ribby

Ribby the Redband Trout first appeared on July 8, 2017. In the 7th inning of each Indians home game, he'll enter the field from the fence to "Barracuda" by Heart in the left field corner, then stop at the visiting dugout, behind home plate, and the home dugout and shake at each stop. He quickly became a fan favorite, and Indians players have tried to imitate his signature shake.

He was introduced as part of the Redband Rally: an initiative to honor the Redband Trout - a native species of trout - keep clean and protect the Spokane River, the trout's home. Redband Rally headbands are available to all fans at Avista Stadium for free and the Indians wear Redband Rally jerseys and caps at all Wednesday home games.

KC[edit]

KC

KC the Stratotanker is the most recent Indians mascot introduced, making his debut on July 22, 2021 as part of the team's Operation Fly Together partnership with Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane. The Indians wear Operation Fly Together uniforms at every Friday home game. KC is the only mascot of the four who does not get introduced to the crowd during every home game.
