Sorel, QC

Sorel is located in central Quebec, 40 miles northeast of Montréal, QC, on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River at the confluence of the Richelieu River, upstream of the St. Lawrence widening to form Lake Saint-Pierre. In 2000, it merged with the smaller nearby city of Tracy and its official name is now Sorel-Tracy, although the shortened form of the name is used in most contexts.
