Biographical Information[edit]

Harry Horton pitched in the minor leagues from 1902 to 1910, beginning his career with the Nevada Lunatics at 15 years old. In 1904, with the Springfield Midgets, the 17-year-old went 28-13 in 41 games. A few years later, with the Hannibal Cannibals in 1908, he was 12-6 and in 1909, with the Pekin Celestials, he was 16-10 with a 3.32 ERA in 33 appearances. Though his minor league record is incomplete, it is known that he won at least 65 career games. Though his career was nine seasons, his playing days were over after age 23.

He was one of four managers for the Celestials in 1909, replacing Doug Jeffries and being replaced by Spider Diehl. The club went 73-57.
