Sixto Escobar Stadium
Sixto Escobar Stadium, known as Estadio Sixto Escobar in Spanish, was the home of the San Juan Senators of the Puerto Rican League starting in 1938 and of their main rivals, the Santurce Crabbers, starting in 1939. It was in service until 1962. Originally named "Estadio del Escambrón", after Punta Escambrón, one of the beaches of San Juan, PR, it was renamed in 1938 for boxer Sixto Escobar, the first world champion from Puerto Rico.
