Sir Francis Ley
Sir Francis Ley was an industrialist who had spent time in the USA. He helped Al Spalding launch Britain's first professional baseball league in 1890 and his Derby club was the top team, winning several national titles. He helped fund the development of baseball in Britain. In 2010, he was inducted posthumously to the British Baseball Hall of Fame.
