Biographical Information[edit]
Sho Aranami has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.
He was a member of the Japanese collegiate All-Stars that played the USA in 2007 and 2008. He did not play in the 2008 World University Championship. After college, he joined Toyota Motors in the industrial leagues and helped them to a national title. He played for Japan when they won a Gold Medal at the 2009 Asian Championship and remained with the team for the 2009 Baseball World Cup. He hit .368/.520/.474 in the Cup, one of Japan's top performers.
The Yokohama BayStars took him in the third round of the 2010 NPB draft. He spent most of the next season in the minors, debuting with his hometown club on September 11 as the starter in center field. He singled off Maximo Nelson in the 4th inning for his first hit in NPB. In 28 games in 2011, he hit .256/.264/.291 in 92 plate appearances.
