Biographical Information[edit]
Shinsuke Ogura pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball for 6 years.
Ogura was drafted by the Daiei Hawks in the third round of the 1998 NPB draft, and he spent his first 9 seasons in the NPB Farm Leagues; he only pitched 15 games combined with the big club. He recorded a 5.40 ERA in 29 appearances in 2008, and he missed most of the 2009 season. He then joined the rotation in 2010, and he went 4-8 with a 5.29 ERA. Ogura missed the next two seasons due to left elbow injury, and he announced his retirement in 2012. He later coached Nagasaki International University from 2017 to 2022 and he became an assistant coach for Kagoshima Commercial High School in 2023.
Overall, Ogura was 7-9 with a 5.60 ERA, struck out 170 and pitched 162 1/3 innings in 6 seasons in NPB.
